Natural Resources

The MPC Comprehensive Planning and Natural Resources Department works closely with jurisdictions in Chatham County on stormwater management, sea level rise, and other natural resource issues that cross municipal boundaries. Regional coordination is vital to ensuring that our population has clean communities and healthy waterways.

Currently, MPC Natural Resources staff maintains a variety of resources on stormwater pollution prevention, xeriscaping, fertilizer and pesticide use, and other best management practices (BMPs) for municipalities, residents, business owners, and homeowners.
