Applications, Instructions, and Forms
The MPC Historic Preservation Department is charged with protecting and preserving the City of Savannah and Chatham County's historic resources
through local zoning ordinances and Secretary of the Interior Standards.
Please note that Applicants and/or their agents are not required to meet with any other organizations or persons regarding their application or
project unless otherwise noted on the application form or as directed by the MPC or City/County Staff.
NOTICE: Per OCGA §8-2-26, detailed checklists of items are required to be submitted with each Development Application. Additionally, there is an
affidavit at the end of the application and each checklist that must be signed and submitted as part of the application process. The completion of
this affidavit certifies that ALL required items, including any required pre-meeting and payment, have been provided to the MPC at the time of application submission.

Pre-meetings shall be held a minimum of one week before the application submission deadline.

ALL COMPLETED APPLICATIONS SHALL BE SENT TO THE FOLLOWING CENTRALIZED EMAIL ADDRESS:
Historic@thempc.org. Please do not send your applications directly to Historic Staff
members or their email addresses as this may cause processing delays. It is permissible to provide a copy to Historic Staff
concurrently with submission of the application to Historic@thempc.org.
The failure to submit payment and/or the filing of an incomplete application by the deadline date and time will delay the placement of your application on the applicable agenda.
Historic District Board of Review
The Historic District Board of Review (HDBR) reviews and grants Certificates of Appropriateness for the Savannah Downtown Historic District.

Historic Preservation Commission
The City of Savannah Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) reviews and grants Certificates of Appropriateness for the following Historic Districts:
Victorian
Historic District, Streetcar Historic District and Cuyler-Brownville Historic District
.
The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC), also, reviews demolition applications for contributing buildings in the following Conservation Districts:
Ardsley
Park / Chatham Crescent, Ardmore, Parkside and Carver / Flatman Village.**
Pay *HPC* Application Fees Only
Effective the October 12, 2024, 12:00 a.m., all Historic Preservation Commission submissions, including STAFF reviews will be reviewed by the Historic Preservation Commission. This process will continue until further notice.
